WiFi QR code
What is a Wi-Fi QR code?
No more spelling out long passwords. A Wi-Fi QR code holds your network name, password and security type. Guests point their camera at it and tap “Join”. Phones can only join a network from details stored in the code itself, so Wi-Fi codes are the one type that can't be edited after printing.
Popular ways to use it
Cafés & restaurants
Put it on table cards so customers connect without asking staff.
Airbnb & hotels
Frame it by the door or in the welcome guide for a great first impression.
Offices
Give visitors guest-network access at reception or in meeting rooms.
At home
Print one for the fridge so friends and family can connect instantly.
Tips for a QR code that always scans
- Network names and passwords are case-sensitive, so copy them exactly.
- If you change your Wi-Fi password, you'll need to print a new code.
- Create the code for a guest network if you don't want to share your main one.
Wi-Fi QR code FAQ
Is it safe to put my Wi-Fi password in a QR code?
Anyone who scans the printed code can join your network, so treat it like the password itself. A separate guest network is a good idea. The details are saved privately in your account so you can download the code again.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes. iPhones (iOS 11 and later) and modern Android phones join Wi-Fi straight from the camera app.
What security type should I choose?
Almost all modern routers use WPA/WPA2/WPA3. Only choose WEP for very old routers, or “No password” for open networks.
My network is hidden — will it work?
Yes. Tick “Hidden network” so phones know to look for it.
